Want to find out more about having a career in a country you weren’t born in?

If you want to find out about working in a different country to the one you were born in, even if that country is the UK, then we’ve got a lot of interesting events for you during Go Global Week!

The biggest careers event will be the Global Opportunities Fair: There will be stalls for you to talk about careers opportunities from around the world, as well as the chance to interact with several cultures and international volunteer projects! – Tues 20th, 12-3pm in the LCR

Also on Tuesday 20th at 5-6.30pm in Arts 2.03 is a seminar specifically for Mandarin-speaking careers event called the Mandarin Consultant Seminar.

On Wednesday 21st at 2-4pm there is the DISCO Careers Seminar: Careers talk for Japanese-speaking students – Bill Wilson Room (Union House 0.11). And if you want to develop your cultural awareness, why not attend the  Cultural Awareness Session workshop? – 2-4pm, CD Annex 1.32 (email j.amos@uea.ac.uk to book a place).

If you’re interested in volunteer projects and human rights and you’re free 7-10pm on Thursday 22nd, why not attend the Human Rights Night!: night of education about global human rights issues…and cake! – 7-10pm in the Hive (contact r.rawle@uea.ac.uk for more info!)

On Friday 23rd there is an event for international students who want to stay and work in the UK called the Post-Study Work Visa Workshop: See http://bit.ly/zk3QhW for more info! 10am-12pm, LT1. And there is also an event for home students who are thinking of working abroad called Going Global: a seminar on working overseas – 1-2.30pm, TPSC 0.1.

There’s also the Global Opportunities Virtual Careers Fair which will be an online careers fair lasting all week Mon-Fri!

So if you’re thinking about developing an international career then you’ll have a busy (but fun) week!
