Book a booth in the Blue Bar!

Planning a club or society social? Celebrating a birthday? Just fancy a night out with your mates? This is for you

This year, the Blue Bar is offering the chance to reserve special areas before LCR nights in order to give you a little bit of VIP treatment! There are two areas you can book – one of the small booths (capacity 6-8) or The Horseshoe area (capacity of 9-25). These areas will be roped off and reserved for your group as well as decorated with balloons, streamers and party poppers! You’ll also get queue jump for the LCR and, providing you give 7 days notice, you can design a special cocktail which will be exclusive to your party! In the small areas, we will give you a free bottle of bubbly or two bottles if you book The Horseshoe! However, if you would prefer, we will of course offer soft drinks instead.

All you need to do is speak to the Pub office seven days before you want to have a booking and discuss your requirements with them. You can contact them on 01603 592481 or email unionpub@uea.ac.uk.

On the night, you need to arrive by 9pm to claim your area otherwise it will be released to other students and you won’t be able to claim any of the benefits of booking!

To launch this new scheme, all bookings up to and including the 6th of November will be put into a draw to win TWO TICKETS TO RIZZLE KICKS AT THE LCR! If you want a chance to win, come and speak to the Pub and start your night in style!

  1. Terrible idea. I like sitting in the blue bar before an LCR..considering the red bar has pretty much no music. I don’t want to have to “book” to have a drink.

    • Hey Sam, yes you will still need to buy a ticket. However, you don’t necessarily have to get it from the box office. If you’re in a club or society you could buy the ticket from their ticket rep. That way your club/soc gets half the money.
