Important #Demo2012 Info – READ IF YOU’RE COMING ALONG

Hi everyone, it’s the national demo this Wednesday and here are some important details you will need to know if you’re coming along.

TIMINGS

The coaches are leaving from UEA main bus stop (the one near Congregation Hall) at 7.15am. Please be there by that time, we will not be able to wait for those who have not shown up and if you do not turn up you will not get you deposit back.

The march starts at 11am from Temple Place in London. The route can be found here. The route ends at Kennington Park where we will all gather.

We are being picked up at 4pm from Albert Embankment. If you do not wish to return on the coach with the rest of us, please let Sam Clark (Community and Student Rights Officer) or Josh Bowker (Academic Officer) know on the coach there. That way we won’t leave anyone behind.

WHAT TO BRING

There are a number of things you might want to consider bringing on the demo to make it a more enjoyable experience. Here’s a quick list to help jog your memory:

  • Comfortable shoes
  • Warm clothes
  • Placards
  • Waterproof coat
  • A working phone/money for a pay phone
  • Wallet/purse
  • A packed lunch
  • A fiery determination to engage politically and change governmental priorities.
  • Maybe an umbrella

And that’s about it. If you have any questions, please email union.community@uea.ac.uk
