Inter-Club Pole Dancing Challenge!

Are UEA’s athletes as fit as they think they are? They can scale sheer cliffs, take down massive armoured men and tread water for over an hour, but can they also pole dance?
Join us on the 5th of December for what is sure to be an entertaining night at the Blue Bar for UEA Pole Dancing club’s pole challenge- issued to the men of UEA’s sports clubs! Six clubs rose to the call, and offered forth their champions:

American football: Joseph Mumford

Badminton: Daryl Jacobs

Climbing: Luke Thompson

Lacrosse: To be confirmed

Water polo: Ben Leader-White

Yoga: Connor McPhail

After undergoing training in feats of strength while aerial on the pole, upright and upside down, the six competitors will compete against each other for the title of Pole Dance Champion and overall Fit Guy!

Support your athletes and take part in our Grand Raffle with the chance to win the biggest prize of your uni experience: FREE ENTRY to Tau Mondays, LCR Tuesdays, Lola Lo Wednesdays, Mercy Thursdays, Wonderland Fridays and Waterfront Saturdays ALL YEAR! Never pay for a night out again! Sub-prizes include meals for two at Nandos, cinema tickets and much more! To participate in the raffle, simply buy tickets online from the UEA box office or from us personally, and select the athlete you believe has the best chance of winning the challenge. Your raffle tickets will then be placed in the tub dedicated to the athlete, with the grand prize being drawn from the winner’s tub and sub prizes from the runner-ups.

This event is a fundraiser to raise money for new equipment. Come along for demonstrations by our girls and lads, the opportunity to jump on the pole yourselves (£1 to learn 2 moves) or nominate a mate (£3), and the waxing of the legs of our hairiest male dancer Ralph Butcher (£1 per strip), culminating in the Pole-Off, the crowning of our champion and the drawing of the Grand Raffle! We hope to see you all there!
