Callout: Go Green Week art competition!

The Union is calling all creative minded students to get busy painting, filming, photographing, writing and performing for Go Green Week 2013! We want your submissions, be they paintings, photographs, poetry or films, on the theme of inspiring students towards greener living. This could be anything from a photo appreciating the beauty of an ancient woodland, a film following recycling behind the scenes, a poem about windmills, to a recycled collage…

Go Green Week is the premier green event on the student calendar, happening at universities all around the country to raise awareness on green issues and help students to live a greener lifestyle. Climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution are issues that affect us all, but living more sustainably, be it though cutting energy use, driving less or recycling, can sometimes seem a little mundane. We want to inspire students and remind them that it’s worth it – multiplied, these actions have a massive impact!

All competition finalists will have their work exhibited in the union for the duration of Go Green Week. Competition details are being finalised and prizes tbc. We will provide an update in January, but this is to give you time to get creative over the Christmas break!

Go Green Week is happening on the 11th-17th February. To submit your entries, and for all other enquiries, please email union.environment@uea.ac.uk, or you can submit a physical copy of your work to the Student Officer Centre.

Deadline is Friday 8th of February.
